FEATURED WEED Carolina Geranium Geranium carolinianum WEED DESCRIPTION This winter annual grows in many different habitats and has been reported across the United States. Its leaves are deeply dissected and divided into toothed segments. Whitish-pink to purple flowers help differentiate this weed from other smaller geranium species. CONTROL TIPS Fall herbicide applications are recommended to control Carolina geranium. Apply Defendor® specialty herbicide in September or October, once temperatures start to cool. This systemic herbicide will move from the treated foliage throughout the plant and into the root system. Mature geraniums can be hand-pulled.
